Invisible

I kneel beside my bed.

I picture in my mind,

reaching out to take the scroll of the Spirit

which He delivers in the dawn.

News of His

Word and Work

for me today.

Yet, even after waiting,

I am afraid to open it.

I believe it only has hard things.

Things that I will not enjoy.

And so I recognize, the deceiver has spoken.

For he hovers my dawn as well.

"Be brave", I say

and step into the light

for it's unsealing.

As it unrolls, I catch my breath

for starkly written:

Death to Self

is signed where I first glance.

Dread whispers in my ear,

"Read no more. That alone--impossible."

Yet,

sparkling on the page,

even as I tremble,

Invisible Ink illuminates 3D words:

POWER, LOVE, STRENGTH.

And jeweled words innumerable

bounce off the page into the air ,

as sun dissolves the

very words I feared...death;

and left only

GLORIES UNTOLD

hanging in the

atmoshpere.

Such a wonder to behold.

So when tomorrow comes I will tell myself,

Do not be afraid to open

the scroll of today.

Let no dark whisperers dissuade you.

When the dawn breaks forth

Step into the Son.

The mystery of His hidden goodness

appears to those brave enough to look

past death,

and Behold the Invisible God.
